A Sunrise Jeep-Access Colorado Elopement Adventure
Tucked into the mountains outside of Alma, Colorado, this early-morning elopement was exactly the kind of adventure I love capturing.
Long before sunrise, we loaded up and made our way up a rugged 4WD road near Mosquito Pass, climbing into a remote alpine setting that few people ever get to experience. These off-the-beaten-path locations are one of the things I love most about photographing mountain elopements in Colorado. The journey up in the Jeeps becomes part of the story.
As first light crept across the peaks, the landscape slowly came to life. Surrounded by just a handful of their closest family members, friends, and a private chef, the couple exchanged vows in complete mountain solitude beside a high alpine lake, surrounded by the rich mining history and remnants that still define this corner of Colorado. No crowds, no distractions, just meaningful moments in an unforgettable place.
Elopements like this are a reminder that the best Colorado wedding locations aren't always the easiest to reach. Sometimes the extra effort leads to the most rewarding views, the quietest moments, and the memories that last a lifetime.
If you're dreaming of a Colorado mountain elopement that feels truly adventurous and uniquely your own, I'd love to help you find a location that's a little farther off the map.
